Brief Description of the Project:
AFSP, a project of the Government of Nepal, received essential Technical Assistance and social mobilization support from RUDAS Nepal, aimed at targeted communities within selected district locations. The project delivered two key assistance packages:
  1. Capacity development and skill enhancement for project beneficiaries.
  2. Quality assurance in agriculture, livestock, and nutrition, employing advanced technologies and methodologies to improve the nutritional status and food security of women and children under the age of two.
Major outcomes achieved/ Implementation Success:
  • The project ensured the adoption of improved crop and livestock technologies and methodologies throughout its interventions.
  • The project contributed to increasing the production and productivity of crops and livestock, thereby boosting farmers' incomes and supporting the nutritional and food security of poor households.
  • The project focused on enhancing dietary intake for pregnant and nursing women, as well as children aged 6-24 months, to improve overall health and nutrition.
